The Mall at Cribbs Causeway, is a large shopping centre on the outskirts of Bristol. While working at McCann Erickson I was involved in the re-brand of the Mall. We wanted the Mall to be perceived as the fashion hub in Bristol, so we introduced Bristol Fashion Week, which now runs twice a year. We also used illustration to create a strong fashion identity. The illustrations were commissioned and the dresses of the women were made up of products you could buy at the Mall.
We did a whole series of large scale advertisements on billboards, bus sides and banners. As well as smaller collateral including brochures, gift cards and bags. The new brand identity is now instantly recognisable and they continue to be a huge success even with the opening of Cabot Circus shopping centre in the middle of Bristol.
